4 AFFORDABLE accessories for your outfits From Aimee Song, Kendall Jenner, and Jenn Im

INSTAGRAM. That’s the place where we all get our outfit inspirations from. We are easily influenced by celebrities, fashion designers, or even your friends for outfit inspirations. Accessories play a big role to make our outfits glamours for photoshoots or even to impress others. These 4 accessories will help you spice up your #OOTD starting from 8 dollars.

  1. TINY SUNGLASSES
@songofstyle (aka. Aimee Song)  is rocking out her tiny rectangular cat-eye sunglasses. Throw a pair of those with your cute outfit and you’ll be good to go. They are effortless yet stylish for your #ootd photo. Tiny sunglasses are a huge trend right now but finding them at a reasonable price might be a bit challenging. However, it’s not impossible to find them. SCROLL DOWN TO SEE MORE :)

   Zara
Play around with the shape. If you are into the ovals these are definitely for you.

ASOS
If you really like cat eye sunglasses then you might like the ones below. They come in a green and white frame. Pretty unique I would say.

     2.   FANNY PACKS

Such a retro accessory to get. Not only is it fashionable but very convenient as well. You don’t have to worry about carrying your purse anymore. Take a risk with it and try it out. Be the one who starts this trend in your friend group.  Style it up with any outfit you would like, keep it simple :) like Kendall Jenner.

                                    Forever 21

Forever 21 has stylish items at a reasonable price.
I love how simple the design is and yet so stylish.

ASOS
If being basic is too boring then this one is for you. Holographic designs seem to be trendy nowadays, from holographic coats to holographic bags. Feeling the futuristic glam, indeed!

                                                                    Topshop

I love the pink velvet fabric used for this
fanny pack along with the front designs.
Very unique!

   3.  STATEMENT EARRINGS

Applause for Aimee Song for presenting us the simplest earrings I have ever seen. I think I just fell in love with these face contour line earrings. They are the perfect combination of delicate and lightweight. Dangling earrings aren’t just fashion statements, they also attract people’s attention.

                                                                       H&M

The wire flower earrings are very much like Aimee Song’s earring. Again it’s very simple. They come in two colors: gold and silver.

These tassel earrings come in two colors: black and coral. The fabric tassels make the earrings to a whole different level. Match this with your favorite floral dress and you’ll be good to go.
                                                              Urban Outfitters

Instead of choosing simple hoop earrings, go for these! The crystals make these drop earrings stand out more bring more and demand attention. Be the unique one :)

4.  BELTS

@imjennim caught my attention with the way she uses her belt for her skirt. Not only you can use your belts for your pants but Jenn also illustrates to us that it could be used on skirts too.

                        Uniqlo
Soft leather is what makes the belt more durable than other belts. Uniqlo makes great quality items that benefit the customers. The vintage belt comes in three different colors: black, brown, and dark brown. It might be a bit more pricey than the rest but it’s worth it.

Forever 21
While most belts are mostly in color black this red one caught my attention. For those who are willing to give this red belt a try: wear a white shirt with blue washed jeans and top it off with any shoes you desire.

                                                                 ASOS

The texture of this belt is my favorite part of this belt. The faux Croc standouts from all the other ones.

Black Mirror Episode: 15 Million Merits Review

By  Lauren Simmons The Black Mirror episode “15 Million Merits” shows a society where people live in a slave-like existence. The characters, in this not-so distant future, ride stationary bikes to receive points otherwise known as merits. These merits pay for basic necessities such as food, soap, and toothpaste. Once an individual has 15 million merits hence the title, and a mix of talent, luck and beauty, they can be granted their “freedom”. They are granted this “freedom” by entering a talent competition known as “Hot Shot”, where there are three judges: Judge Wraith, Judge Hope, and Judge Charity. Only a select few are granted their “freedom”. With this new found freedom, individuals can enjoy a life of “leisure” and “glamour”. Biking is used for a means of survival. Most people in this society are so brainwashed that they have become comfortable living a life of monotony and stationary bikes. This episode exemplifies the manipulation of the working/middle class by t...

Modern-day Activism: Bea Miller the "S.L.U.T. "

By: Inaijah Conyers Beatrice Annika Miller, also known as Bea Miller,  is one of the many American female singers today that are redefining the music industry. At 19, Bea Miller already has an imminent voice in pop culture. Take for example Bea’s latest song, S.L.U.T. In this song, Bea takes a heavily negatively connotated word and changes it to mean sweet little unforgettable thing. She empowers women with just one simple acronym. As expected, Miller has received a mixture of both positive and negative responses from this song. Some people clearly missed her point when creating this song. Her intention was to take the word ‘slut’ back for women. Every day, women all over the world are called a slut. And while to some, this word has little to no meaning, to others it does. This one word can destroy a person’s self- esteem and even the way they view others. And to make matters worse, it is constantly evolving into words like tramp, whore, hoe, and even into the acronym, thot...

STUDENT OF THE MONTH: Alexandra Branchinelli

By: Tsering Lama       In our first ever student of the month nomination, Alexandra Branchinelli has been recognized for her persistent hard work in school and continued progression. Mr. Gershon, teaching Computer Science 1, has applauded Branchinelli’s skills to adapt to the new language as well as show attentiveness and care for the new dynamic in computer coding. At first, like most students, Branchinelli felt intimidated and frustrated by the new content, different from what has been taught before. However, her relentless, positive attitude has transformed her results as she patiently tries again and again at a new project or skill before seeking help. Her new approach to the class has allowed her to excel in her work as well as help her grow as a student. Branchinelli’s good nature and humor have permitted her to be liked by all her teachers and peers while continuously showing support for the school community. Her improvement has proved that “The ...
