Instagram is a social media platform full of cringy throwbacks, memes, and iconic looks. Since its beginnings, fashion bloggers have been creating and promoting new trends, each with their unique touch. These 5 instagrammers have highly coordinated feeds and are some of the best dressed influencers.
Aimee Song is the ultimate queen of fashion on instagram. With her fun and happy personality it’s no wonder why 4.3 MILLION people are following her (including me of course ;) ) She’s  an interior designer and a blogger, blogging about her #OOTDs and looks at fashion week. You should DEFINITELY check out her youtube channel. She makes QUALITY vlogs, styling videos, and delicious recipes. Her notorious sweet potatoes and raw bars are mouth-watering. She’s obsessed with them and post about them on her story (I’ll post the link down below).  She’s honestly my biggest inspiration in the fashion industry. Her outfits blow my mind all the time, she can pull off anything (even dad shoes shown on the left).

I actually discovered Rosa’s instagram account through Aimee Song and I must say Aimee have a great taste in terms of accounts that are worth to follow. Débora Rosa’s feed definity caught my attention because of the unusual angle shots of her outfits and different objects. She has a very calming and more neutral-colored feed. I think she pulls off trench coats, big blazars and sunglasses very well. Her handbags are so unique like the beaded-see through bag (shown on middle post on bottom row) Her style is all about the high waist pants and turtlenecks or a blouse. Keep it simply and keep it classy.

I can’t forget about Dani when I mentioned her sister Aimee before. Dani’s style is all about that bada** street style rebel. She’s very edgy with the crop tops and her blond short hair makes everything better. I love how she could piece everything together. Her tattoos and her edginess encourage girls to step out of society standards and be whoever they want to be.

I found out about Aisa when her youtube video popped up in my recommandation. I immediately fell in love with her when I saw her first video about how to style your outfits. Her youtube channel consist of skin care beauty video, styling, budgeting on clothes, etc. Jackson also focused on the issue of colorism how it was hard for her to fit in with her Filipino heritage because she was darker than the rest of them. However, she use her twitter platform as an opportunity to encourage other to show who they are and started the #MagandangMorenx. She influence many people not only through her outfit styles but speaking up for colorism.

Tenzin is a local New York Fashion Student. Her outfits are follows the latest trends and they are affordable. Some of her pieces are from Urban Outfitters and Zara. I’m amazed how well she could piece all her clothes together to create such a beautiful outfit. Looking at her posts, I learned two things from her: 1) Sunglasses makes every photo better 2) add multiple layers to your outfits than adding a lot of jewelry. Mono color outfits are very trendy right now and I love Tenzin’s nude mono color outfit. They aren’t exactly the same shade but they are similar and I believe for mono color it’s best that you have different shade and texture to make it pop. If you are interest to know more about Tenzin you should definitely visit her blog https://www.tenzstyles.com/

Black Mirror Episode: 15 Million Merits Review

By  Lauren Simmons The Black Mirror episode “15 Million Merits” shows a society where people live in a slave-like existence. The characters, in this not-so distant future, ride stationary bikes to receive points otherwise known as merits. These merits pay for basic necessities such as food, soap, and toothpaste. Once an individual has 15 million merits hence the title, and a mix of talent, luck and beauty, they can be granted their “freedom”. They are granted this “freedom” by entering a talent competition known as “Hot Shot”, where there are three judges: Judge Wraith, Judge Hope, and Judge Charity. Only a select few are granted their “freedom”. With this new found freedom, individuals can enjoy a life of “leisure” and “glamour”. Biking is used for a means of survival. Most people in this society are so brainwashed that they have become comfortable living a life of monotony and stationary bikes. This episode exemplifies the manipulation of the working/middle class by t...

Modern-day Activism: Bea Miller the "S.L.U.T. "

By: Inaijah Conyers Beatrice Annika Miller, also known as Bea Miller,  is one of the many American female singers today that are redefining the music industry. At 19, Bea Miller already has an imminent voice in pop culture. Take for example Bea’s latest song, S.L.U.T. In this song, Bea takes a heavily negatively connotated word and changes it to mean sweet little unforgettable thing. She empowers women with just one simple acronym. As expected, Miller has received a mixture of both positive and negative responses from this song. Some people clearly missed her point when creating this song. Her intention was to take the word ‘slut’ back for women. Every day, women all over the world are called a slut. And while to some, this word has little to no meaning, to others it does. This one word can destroy a person’s self- esteem and even the way they view others. And to make matters worse, it is constantly evolving into words like tramp, whore, hoe, and even into the acronym, thot...

Mr. Gershon, teaching Computer Science 1, has applauded Branchinelli’s skills to adapt to the new language as well as show attentiveness and care for the new dynamic in computer coding. At first, like most students, Branchinelli felt intimidated and frustrated by the new content, different from what has been taught before. However, her relentless, positive attitude has transformed her results as she patiently tries again and again at a new project or skill before seeking help. Her new approach to the class has allowed her to excel in her work as well as help her grow as a student.
